Lin'an City and ZFU Shake Hands to Build a Modern Eco-city

As a sign and a means of deepening strategic cooperation between Lin'an City and ZFU, in 14th of April 2009, the two sides formally signed a cooperation framework agreement to build a modern eco-city. The realization of this growing collaboration will particularly focus in five major areas: a harmonious community and campus construction, urban and rural planning and rural development, science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship, basic education and personnel training, tourism and modern service industry.


The signing ceremony was held, in the afternoon of April 14, at City Hall Conference Center. Representatives and leaders of relevant departments and bureaus of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, Lin'an city, ZFU and other government departments took part in the ceremony. In attendance were Director of Provincial Science and Technology Department, Mr. Jiang Taiwei, Deputy Director of the Office of Education, Mr. Bao Xuejun, Deputy Secretary of Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee Mr. Wang Jincai, and the ZFU's Party Secretary, Mr. Chen Jingyou.

 

At the signing ceremeny ZFU's party secretary Mr. Chen Jingyou said that in the last 50 years of educational practice where Zhejiang Forestry University took root in Lin'an, the city's continuing support was indispensable for the schools rapid development. The signing of this document, he said, is yet another sign that the collaboration between the city and the school has grown to a new level and marks a new beginning. The construction of the Eco-city is not only in response to the city's needs but also an implementation of the school's development strategy: eco-education, innovation and strong school. In the process of such a collaborative action, the establishment of stable, long-term comprehensive strategic partnership, complementary advantages and common development, will further be strengthened and be increasingly fruitful.
